Command & Data Handling (microController) / Re: Command and Control

I found a breif tutorial for configuring COSMOS and Arduino to play together. http://www.williamosman.com/2016/08/cosmos-and-arduino-20-telemetry-system.html?m=1
I'm trying to get Ball Aerospace Cosmos (http://cosmosrb.com) telemetry software to work on Win10 64-bit without much luck. A couple of the components don't get installed not will the demo load. This week I'm setting up a Win 7 VM to test on. Can someone else see if it will install on their copy of Win 10?

I appreciate the offer of sending out replacement parts.  Don't worry about sending me anything. I'm a machinist and we are miracle workers. I made them work. I'm just giving you feedback to improve the Cosmoneer.

I'm creating a challenge for to replicate the basic functionality commonly used in satellites: data collection, data storage and data transmittion back to command center. I am using off the shelf parts from Amazon. I got a micro sd card drive, real time clock, camera and temp/pressure sensor. They all have support libraries. I'm waiting for them to come in to start assembly.

I know FDMI chips are not cheap. What about integration of AVR Tiny85 for onboard USB support. http://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/84663/firmware-circuit-of-attiny45-direct-usb-2-0-connection

General Discussion / Assembly Issues
« on: April 03, 2017, 08:13:36 PM »
I just put together my Cosmoneer kit yesterday. The kit I purchased was the unassembled kit with 3D printed parts. I followed the diredtions for assembly on Instructables. I have a few suggestions to help clarify up confusions for future builders. This is not me whining but bringing up issues to make a stranger product.

1. Add labels to the photos so the builder know what they are looking at.

2. Magnetic power circuit on the craft needa shrink wrap to give support to the small wires. I had to resolder both.

3. On attaching the coil to thr project boards, you instructed to use jumpers. They would not fit in the holes of the ABS. Switch to super glue or screws.

4. The holes for the cut acrylic and 3D printed parts did not line up. Check quality issues.

5. The FDMI to USB card does not plug in easily because the 3.3 or 5 volt jumper. Maybe jumper cabling?

6. The port for the servo and speed controller not clearly labeled on the directions of what goes where and orientation of the plug.

7. The little inserts to join both halves of the crecent hanger was not going in by hand. It was a job for superglue.
